Sousa Group (Corner Plaza).
• The Corner Plaza – The kick-off meeting was held January 7th for the Corner Project with
Sasaki, IO Design, the Artist Team, and the Public Art Subcommittee. Design is now in
process with hopes that the project will be complete sometime this fall.
• Junction Walls – As soon as contracting is completed a public input session will be held
with Don Rimx so that he can meet the community through Zoom. With that information
he will begin his design process. Designs will be presented in March for approval, and
painting will take place in June 2021.
• Arts Plaza - Design is at 90%, Hogan will Construct plaza starting in
March. Sasaki is currently working on Ogden Ave improvement to extend plaza
across the street to the Monarch. Street Sculpture (now known as the Beacon) is

accessible, what can happen & not happen at plaza and what type of programming can be
done.
• Brandon said he thinks it should just be arts. If events happen with a beer garden
there should be a checkpoint and we should take advantage of Ogden Ave.
• It was asked if a staff member will be there to help at events. Gina and Jake
mentioned that the Ogden City Arts, Culture & Events Department will be there to help
support. As it gets closer to the opening a more solidified plan will be in place.
• Ideas about the plaza mentioned were to have spontaneous programming,
buskers, poetry readings, and info center that has a bulletin of events happening and
about police cameras to watch the area but to also track visitors.
