Brandon Long • Mayor’s Awards in the Arts Ballot Results Discussion and Voting – Lorie Buckley • Reviewed ballot winners for 5 of the event’s 6 awards. • Discussed Runoff Ballot candidates, including qualifications and experience. • Conducted Runoff ballot voting. • Corner Plaza Ribbon Cutting – Lorie Buckley • Recapped event and discussed anecdotal public response to “New Range” sculpture. • Discussed pin-up wall design and functionality. • Preliminary discussion about the July 2025 First Friday Art Stroll falling on the 4th of July. • Diversity Commission Representative – Camille Washington • The acting OCAAC Vice Chair will serve as the Diversity Commission Representative and deliver reports during monthly meetings. • Upcoming Events • OCAAC Ordinance Review Reminder for October Committee – Camille Washington  o Ordinance materials will be emailed to the Committee for advanced review of October’s OCAAC meeting. • Artist Call - Community Art Show Tattoo Art Show – Lorie Buckley o Shared public feedback on Tattoo Art Show theme. o Discussed 2024 Community Art Show schedule and themes. • Final Twilight featuring Röyksopp to be held September 25 – Lorie Buckley o Conveyed final season performance details. o 2024 Twilight scheduling is underway. 1. Overviewed process for selecting artists. • Jo Blake and Cam McLeod performance/exhibit opening Friday, October 6 at Dumke Arts Plaza – Jo Blake and Cam McLeod o Conveyed the Blake and McLeod installation details and schedule. 1. Artist talk is planned for November at WBs. o Overviewed the Dumke Arts Plaza’s interlocal agreement between Weber State University and Ogden City related to programming and exhibitions. o Discussed public reservation process and communication strategy. • Mayor’s Awards in the Arts Celebration to be held Thursday, November 2 – Lorie Buckley o Overviewed event structure and evening’s run of show. • OGX Artwork OCAAC Tour to be held Friday, November 3 – Lorie Buckley o UTA artwork bus tour will be organized for OCAAC during the November First Friday Art Stroll to celebrate the public art pieces and artists involved. o Considered additional opportunities to raise visibility of OGX station artists. • Committee Updates Discussion – Camille Washington o Expressed interest to conduct individual member program/project updates at future OCAAC meetings. • Mayoral Candidate Presentations – Camille Washington • Invitations will be extended for the two Ogden City Mayoral candidates to present to the OCAAC during the October 10, 2023 meeting. • Sub-Committees • Executive – Camille Washington o Interest to have mayoral candidates present to the Committee during October meeting. o Vice Chair seat will serve as the Ogden City Diversity Commission representative. • Ogden CAN – Camille Washington o Ogden CAN’s last meeting addressed food scarcity, particularly a lack of fresh produce, in the city’s east central neighborhood. o Reviewed current programming and considered future OCAAC engagement with Madison Elementary. • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo o Exploring opportunities for young artist meet ups with Caril Jennings, Ogden CAN, and others.
