Minutes of the regular meeting of the Natural Resources and Sustainability Stewardship Advisory Committee held Thursday, March 24th, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. via electronic web conferencing in accordance with Utah Code 52-4-202. Meggin called the roll. APPROVAL OF JANUARY 27th & February 24th MEETING MINUTES Jonathan and Aimee made a motion to approve both minutes. Adam seconded. Motion passed unanimously. SUBCOMMITTEE RESTRUCTURING DISCUSSION Action Item- Assign members that have not been assigned to a committee o The Committee decided to table the subcommittee assignments until new members come on board due to some members terms expiring. Also, once subcommittees are in place and going, there will be a rolling agenda item for sub-committee reports every month. If you would like to be assigned to a committee, please let Meggin know. These are currently the members we have on each subcommittee: Connection Subcommittee Jonathan Melton- Chair Adam Tobey Riley Allen Makenzie Truong Climate & Clean Air Subcommittee- Needs a chair Joe Linford-Term expiring in April Bill Hackett- Term expiring in April Aimee Urbina Sustainability Staff Member Subcommittee- Needs a chair Joe Linford- Term expiring in April 1|Page Bill Hackett- Term expiring in April Aimee Urbina Adam Tobey HB 411 UPDATES The survey is still open to the public, so the city has not received results yet. Once the results are back, the Committee will be notified of the outcome. The city will need to make a decision by June if they want to participate in HB411. Aimee asked if Ogden City has thought about alternative options to save energy if the city decides to not go forward with HB411 and if the climate & clean air subcommittee could make recommendations on some options. Mara stated that the city is exploring all options and would love input from the subcommittee as to other options if the city does not go forward with HB411. COMMITTEE OPEN DISCUSSION Meggin discussed upcoming chair and vice- would then take over as chair and a new vice-chair would need to be chosen. The committee can give nominations for vice-chair in our May meeting, so that a new vice-chair is in place starting in June. A new member application has been sent to the Mayor and City Council for approval and assignment of a date for an upcoming City Council meeting. Meggin will check and see if a date has been given yet. Meggin discussed that according to the rules of the committee, an annual report is required to be sent to City Council every year, due in August. This report would be fiscal year reporting, July 1 st to June 30th. Meggin suggested using data from the sunset report and ad Aimee will work on this report together, but Aimee will present to City Council since she will be the new chair at ort that they just submitted to City Council for reference. Meggin will send this report to Adam to Aimee. Aimee asked about the social media posting of the committee recruitment advertisement. She stated that it t find it on Instagram. Meggin will check with Marketing to see if they posted to Instagram and if not, this will be posted. Jonathan will work with the connection sub-committee to possibly do some tabling events coming up. Jay informed the committee that there is a table, signs, and other items available to use for these events. He gave the contact information for the refuse department to Adam so he could reach out to them when they needed the items. Adam stated that he will be setting up a meeting with the chair of the Diversity Commission to talk about collaboration at tabling events. PUBLIC COMMENT No public comment.
