Minutes of the regular meeting of the Natural Resources and Sustainability Stewardship Advisory Committee held Thursday, May 26th, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. via electronic web conferencing in accordance with Utah Code 52-4-202. Meggin called the roll. APPROVAL OF MARCH 24th & APRIL 28TH MEETING MINUTES There was not a quorum, so the approval of the March 24 th & April 28th minutes will be held until the next meeting. SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATES Jonathan stated that the outreach sub-committee will be planning on tabling at the Ogden Farmers Market and will ask other members if they would like to help out with that. Jonathan & Adam will reach out to Jeremy Shinoda, former chair of the Diversity Commission, to see about co-tabling at the Juneteenth Festival. Once more members join the committee, more outreach events can be attended. Jonathan would like the Committee to do a quarterly report to City Council on things the Committee has been doing. Jonathan will start a draft document and send that out to the Committee to collaborate. REVIEW OF CITY SUSTAINABLITY INITIATIVES The CREA community survey results were presented by Weber State to the City Council on Tuesday, May 17 th. The Committee discussed the results and their opinions on the survey. The survey results can be found on the City Council documents website. COMMITTEE OPEN DISCUSSION Meggin discussed upcoming chair and vice- l end in June so Aimee would then take over as chair and a new vice-chair would need to be chosen. Nominations were not given this 1|Page  month due to several members being absent. Aimee stated she could serve as Chair with no co-chair until one can be chosen once more members join the Committee. Three new applications for membership have come in and these will be reviewed by Jay and Mara to see if they can be forwarded to the Mayor for approval. Mara discussed possibly changing the meeting times of this Committee to every other month and during the off months, the subcommittees could meet on their own. No decisions were made because there was not a quorum present to make a vote membership and pick back up in July. PUBLIC COMMENT Jeremy Shinoda- Jeremy wanted to express his appreciation for the members serving on this committee. He also talked with Adam and Jonathan about tabling events with the Diversity Commission. DELIVERABLES FOR NEXT MEETING Check on members who have missed meetings- Adam and Aimee Ask committee members if they would like to help table at the farmers market- Jonathan If you would like to be assigned to a subcommittee, please let Meggin know. If you would like to nominate any committee member for vice-chair, please let Meggin know.
