2022 Joint City Council and Planning Commission Meeting
Call to Order - 5:30 p.m.
Members of the Planning Commission in attendance were, Chairperson Wayne
Janner, Commissioners Chip Corcoran, Jeff Creighton, Jim Terrones, Tony
Bergida, Doug Wood, and Keith Brown. Members of the City Council in
attendance were Mayor Bacon, Councilmembers LeEtta Felter, Adam
Mickelson, Wes McCoy and Marge Vogt.
Chief Planning Officer, Aimee Nassif, facilitated discussions regarding the
Comprehensive Plan, both looking at what has been accomplished and looking
forward to the future.

The joint meeting of the Planning Commission and the City Council adjourned at
6:56 PM. Mayor Bacon reconvened the meeting with members of the City
Council at 7:07 P.M.
Present: Mickelson, McCoy, Bacon, Vogt, and Felter
Absent: Gilmore, and Essex
V. Executive Session
Consideration of motion to recess into an executive session to discuss the following
items:
A. Consideration of motion to recess into an executive session for
consultation with the City’s attorneys which would be deemed privileged
in the attorney-client relationship pursuant to the exception provided in
K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(2), and to discuss data relating to financial affairs or
trade secrets of a corporation pursuant to the exception provided in
K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(4), regarding certain applications for special use
permits (SU19-0008 and SU19-0009). (Ron Shaver/Chris Grunewald)

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Felter, to recess into an executive session
for consultation with the City’s attorneys which would be deemed
privileged in the attorney-client relationship pursuant to the exception
provided in K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(2), and to discuss data relating to
financial affairs or trade secrets of a corporation pursuant to the
exception provided in K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(4), regarding certain
applications for special use permits (SU19-0008 and SU19-0009) for 30
minutes and the open meeting will resume in the community room at the
Olathe Community Center at 7:40 PM. The motion carried with the
following vote:
Yes: Mickelson, McCoy, Bacon, Vogt, and Felter
Absent: Gilmore, and Essex
VII. Reconvene from Executive Session
Mayor Bacon reconvened the public meeting at 7:40 P.M.
Motion by Vogt, seconded by Felter to recess into an executive session for an
additional 15 minutes and reconvene in the community room at the Olathe
Community Center at 7:55 P.M. The motion carried 5-0.
Mayor Bacon reconvened the meeting at 7:55 P.M.
Motion by Vogt, seconded by Felter, to authorize staff to proceed with the strategies
discussed with and directed by the Governing Body. The motion carried with the
following vote:
Yes: Mickelson, McCoy, Bacon, Vogt, and Felter
Absent: Gilmore, and Essex
VIII. Adjourn
City Manager Michael Wilkes reminded the council that the upcoming council
meeting scheduled for December 6th was likely to be a large agenda and
shared a few items to be prepared for.
The meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
