City of Olathe City Council 100 E. Santa Fe | Council Chamber | Special Call Friday | September 20, 2024 | 1:15 PM 1. CALL TO ORDER Present: Bacon, Vogt, Gilmore, Schoonover, and Essex Absent: Felter, and Vakas 2. EXECUTIVE SESSION Consideration of motion to recess into an executive session to discuss the following items: A. Personnel matters of non-elected personnel pursuant to the exception provided in K.S.A.75-4319(b)(1) regarding the City Auditor Position. Motion by Vogt, seconded by Gilmore, to recess into an executive session to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel pursuant to the exception provided in K.S.A.75-4319(b)(1) regarding the City Auditor position for 30 minutes. The open meeting will resume in the City Council chambers at 1:45 P.M. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: Bacon, Vogt, Gilmore, Schoonover, and Essex Absent: Felter, and Vakas The open meeting reconvened at 1:45 PM and Mayor Bacon said there was a need to continue the executive session. Motion by Vogt, seconded by Gilmore, to recess into executive session for an additional 20 minutes with the open meeting reconvening at 2:05 P.M in the Council Chamber. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: Bacon, Vogt, Gilmore, and Essex Absent: Schoonover, Felter, and Vakas Mayor Bacon reconvened the open meeting at 2:05 P.M. and indicated the Council needed additional time. Motion by Vogt, seconded by Gilmore, to recess back into executive session for an additional 20 minutes with the open meeting reconvening at 2:25 P.M. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: Bacon, Vogt, Gilmore, Schoonover, and Essex Absent: Felter, and Vakas Page 1 of 2 City Council Meeting Minutes September 20, 2024 Councilmember Vogt left the meeting at 2:16 P.M. 3. RECONVENE FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION Motion by Gilmore, seconded by Essex, to authorize staff to proceed with the strategies discussed with and directed by the governing body. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: Bacon, Gilmore, Schoonover, and Essex Absent: Vogt, Felter, and Vakas 4. ADDITIONAL ITEMS None. 5. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 2:29 P.M.
