CALL TO ORDER Chair Gilman called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. Present: 9 - Chair Clark Gilman, Vice Chair Aaron Pritchard, Committee Member Timothy W Burns, Committee Member David Coppley, Committee Member Kris Fransen, Committee Member Christina Lock, Committee Member Scott Morgan, Committee Member Greg Wahl, and Committee Member Brittany Yunker Excused: 1 - Committee Member Joe Ford OTHERS PRESENT Councilmember Julie Hankins Jerome Parker, Olympia Planning Commission City Staff: Michelle Swanson, Senior Program Specialist, Public Works Transportation Sophie Stimson, Senior Planner, Public Works Transportation Mark Russell, Director of Transportation, Public Works Heather Reed, Program Assistant, Public Works Transportation 2. APPROVE AGENDA The agenda was unanimously approved. 3. APPROVE MINUTES 3.A 15-0112 Approval of October 22, 2014 Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were unanimously approved. 3.B 15-0068 Approval of November 19, 2014 Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were unanimously approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None City of Olympia Page 1 Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Meeting Minutes January 28, 2015 Committee 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Chair Gilman introduced the new Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee liaison, Tim Burns. Ms. Swanson made several additional announcements. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 15-0099 Draft 2015-16 Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) Work Plan The committee reviewed the draft 2015-2016 BPAC work plan. Committee Member Yunker moved, seconded by Committee Member Fransen, to approve the work plan. The motion passed unanimously. 6.B 15-0100 Fairview Pathway Committe Member Coppley moved, seconded by Committee Member Lock, to support funding the Fairview Pathway project at $100,000. The motion passed unanimously. 6.C 15-0101 Briefing on the Proposed Approach to the Bicycle Corridors Pilot Project Ms. Stimson presented a briefing on the proposed approach to the Bicycle Corridors Pilot Project. Senior Program Ms. Swanson presented maps of the proposed routes. The Committee accepted the approach on bicycle corridors and staff will develop estimates on the candidate routes. In February, staff will return with estimates and ask the Committee to select a route for the pilot project. The report was received. 7. HOUSEKEEPING Ms. Stimson noted the Bike Corridors presentation will be available on the BPAC Member Resources webpage. Ms. Swanson agreed to send electronic copies of the proposed bike corridors map via email. 9. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m. City of Olympia Page 2
