ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Stephen Buxbaum, Mayor Pro Tem Nathaniel Jones, Councilmember Julie Hankins, Councilmember Jeannine Roe, Councilmember Steve Langer Excused: Councilmember Jim Cooper, Councilmember Cheryl Selby 2. BUSINESS ITEMS 2.A 15-0426 Septic Summit II Olympia City Councilmembers met with elected officials for Lacey, Tumwater, and Thurston County to review issues related to onsite septic systems in the urban area. Staff presentations included an overview of why septic systems are an issue to public and environmental health in our community. Current approaches for managing septic systems in the cities were shared. More detailed discussion among the elected officials revolved around the challenges of converting the many septic systems to municipal sewer systems. Possible regional approaches and tools were evaluated. The group decided to follow-up within their respective jurisdictions. The Olympia City Council will discuss the issue in next few months and share feedback through their LOTT representative. The discussion was completed. 3.
