Present: 7 - Mayor Cheryl Selby, Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Bateman,
Councilmember Jim Cooper, Councilmember Clark Gilman,
Councilmember Nathaniel Jones, Councilmember Lisa Parshley and
Councilmember Renata Rollins
2. BUSINESS ITEM
2.A 19-0531 City Council 2019 Mid-Year Retreat
City Manager Steve Hall gave an overview of the agenda.
Trainer Martin Reinsel provided de-esclation training to the City Council, Mr. Hall,
Assistant City Manager Jay Burney, Strategic Communications Director Kellie Purce
Braseth and Executive Assistant Susan Grisham. The training provided tools to manage
challenging situations in both a meeting setting and a one-on-one setting.
Councilmembers toured the Harbor Heights development at 500 Columbia Street.
Community Planning & Development Director Keith Stahley and Economic Development
Director Mike Reid shared an update regarding City-owned properties.
Mayor Selby checked in with Councilmembers regarding the referral process to ensure it
was working for everyone.
Councilmembers asked clarifying questions throughout the day.
The discussion was completed.

The meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
