ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Mayor Cheryl Selby, Mayor Pro Tem Clark Gilman, Councilmember Jim Cooper, Councilmember Yến Huỳnh, Councilmember Dani Madrone, Councilmember Lisa Parshley and Councilmember Renata Rollins 2. BUSINESS ITEM 2.A 21-0764 Cultural Access Programs Briefing Historic Preservation Officer and ArCH Coordinator Marygrace Goddu gave an overview of RCW 36.160; which was established by the State Legislature in 2015 as a program to enable local governments to strengthen and expand access to cultural programming in their cities through voter approved sales or property taxes. She noted the program is titled "Cultural Access" as the goal is to increase pubic engagement and equitable access to cultural institutions and arts programming. Inspire Washington Executive Director Manny Cawaling and Tacoma Arts Live Executive Director David Fischer shared their experience in supporting a Cultural Access levy in Tacoma and the subsequent implementation of the program.
