BUSINESS ITEM 2.A 25-0052 Meeting with 22nd District Legislative Delegation Mayor Payne opened the meeting and thanked the 22nd District Legislators for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with the Council. Senator Bateman, Representative Doglio, and Representative Parshley shared their goals for the year's legislative session. Mayor Payne discussed the City's 20245 legislative agenda which supports solutions to critical issues for residents of Olympia and beyond. Councilmembers and staff discussed the City's legislative priorities, which are as follows: · Deschutes Estuary Restoration · Continued Resources to Address Homelessness · Study of Reparations · Revise the Arbitrary Property Tax Cap · Additional Climate Mitigation · Tenant Protections · Housing Resources · Address Regressive Revenue Options · Address Issues of Financial Stability · Further Legislative Action Supporting Climate Change and Climate Justice Initiatives · Further Behavioral Health Resources · Further Legislative Action to Reduce Gun Violence Legislators asked clarifying questions and discussed the issues.
