ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Mayor Dontae Payne, Mayor Pro Tem Yến Huỳnh, Councilmember Dani Madrone, Councilmember Robert Vanderpool, Councilmember Clark Gilman, Councilmember Kelly Green and Councilmember Paul Berendt 2. BUSINESS ITEM 2.A 26-0143 City Council Dinner and Information Sharing Councilmembers reviewed the process and logistical arrangements for the evening’s Council meeting. They also discussed the evaluation process for the Assistant to the City Council, procedures for placing events on Councilmember calendars, and considerations related to proclamations. Mayor Payne reported a vacancy on the Salary Commission and noted the need to appoint a new member. He requested that Councilmembers submit names of potential candidates for consideration by March 6. The discussion was completed. 2.B 26-0185 Appointment of a Councilmember to Preside Over the March 17, 2026 City Council Meeting City Manager Burney noted that the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will be in Washington, D.C., on March 17 to attend the National League of Cities Conference. Councilmembers discussed which member would preside over the Council meeting in their absence Councilmember Madrone moved, seconded by Councilmember Green, to appoint Councilmember Gilman to preside over the March 17, 2026 City Council meeting in the absence of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7 - Mayor Payne, Mayor Pro Tem Huỳnh, Councilmember Madrone, Councilmember Vanderpool, Councilmember Gilman, Councilmember Green and Councilmember Berendt 3.
