1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Villegas Bremer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The agenda was approved.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT - None
4. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Ms. Cleveland announced the City Manager appointed Commissioner Soule to
another term.
Chair Villegas Bremer announced she attended the Black Alliance community
meeting last week.
5. BUSINESS ITEMS
16-1154 OFD Fire Chief, Battalion Testing Process
Ms. Cleveland discussed the Battalion Chief Promotional Register and noted two
anticipated vacancies in the next year or two. She highlighted components of the
testing process and said the consultant recommended including the written test as
part of the assessment. The minimum passing score will be 70 percent.

Commissioners asked clarifying questions.
Assistant Fire Chief Buchanan provided timelines for the upcoming testing in the
spring of 2017.
Commissioner Soule moved, seconded by Chair Villegas Bremer, to approve
the testing process to establish a promotional battalion chief register. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 2 - Chair Villegas Bremer and Commissioner Soule
Excused: 1 - Commissioner Callner
