CALL TO ORDER Chair Sorrells called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 6 - Chair Virginia Sorrells, Vice Chair Roussa Cassel, Boardmember Joseph S LaValle, Boardmember Angela Rush, Boardmember Katrina Schmitt, and Boardmember Abigail Twombly Excused: 1 - Boardmember Bassim Kreem Absent: 1 - Boardmember Ingrid Gulden 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. ANNOUNCEMENTS New planner Casey Mauck was introduced to the board. 5. BUSINESS ITEMS 5.A 23-0934 Board membership and recruiting for two open positions Associate Planner/Staff Liaison Jackson Ewing discussed application deadline of December 15, 2023 and possible recruitment techniques. Chair Sorrells discussed potential recruiting options, reaching out to interested organizations. Existing board members will reach out to groups who may have interested members. All attending board members provided feedback. The discussion was completed. 5.B 23-0935 Awards of Merit Boardmember LaValle gave a presentation of tracking documents of past completed City of Olympia Page 1 Design Review Board Meeting Minutes October 26, 2023 design projects No awards given. The list will be maintained and awards will no occur until late 2024 at the earliest. The discussion was completed. 5.C 23-0936 General discussion on process and code application No code related discussions occurred. It was determined that members should provide topics of discussion to the board liaison to add to future meetings The discussion was closed with no discussion or action. 6. OTHER 7.
