CALL TO ORDER Chair Cooper called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 3 - Chair Jim Cooper, Committee member Jessica Bateman and Committee member Jeannine Roe 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 4.A 17-1289 Approval of November 22, 2017 Finance Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 5. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 5.A 17-1299 Update on Community Conversation Planning and Preview New Public Financial Reporting Tools Administrative Services Director Debbie Sullivan showcased the City's new public financial reporting tools that will become available in early 2018. The new reporting tools will provide financial information in an easy to read and use format for the public. The dashboard will help the public find information they are looking through frequently asked questions/answers and will include some capacity to drill down a bit further into the information. Once the reporting tool goes live, citizen outreach will begin. Along with the new financial reporting tools, the Finance Committee will begin its "Community Conversation - Performance, Priorities and Investments" to educate the general public on budgeting, engage community members and gain feedback. City of Olympia Page 1 Finance Committee Meeting Minutes December 13, 2017 5.B 17-1297 Discussion of 2018 Finance Committee Draft Work Plan Ms. Sullivan presented a draft of the 2018 Finance Committee Work Plan. After the Council retreat in January 2018, the work plan draft can be revised and adopted to encompass the direction determined. The discussion was completed. 6. REPORTS AND UPDATES Chair Cooper thanked Committee member Roe for her two years of service with the Finance Committee as well as her contribution to the City Council. 7.
