CALL TO ORDER Chair Kelly called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 8 - Chair Kat Kelly, Commissioner Holly Davies, Commissioner Dwayne Harkness, Commissioner Audrey Henley, Commissioner Maurice Major, Commissioner Rachel Newmann, Commissioner Sheila Swalling and Commissioner Nicholas Vann Excused: 3 - Commissioner Benjamin Helle, Commissioner Garner Miller and Commissioner Heather Walker OTHERS PRESENT City of Olympia Planning and Development staff: Deputy Director Leonard Bauer Associate Planner Katie Pruit Community Volunteer and previous Heritage Commission Staff Liaison Michelle Sadlier 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 18-0527 Approval of April 25, 2018 Olympia Heritage Commission Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - NONE City of Olympia Page 1 Heritage Commission Meeting Minutes May 30, 2018 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Bauer acknowledged Ms. Sadlier's commitment and work for the Commission and introduced Ms. Pruit as her replacement. The City has also contracted with Ms. Jennifer Schreck to be our Historic Preservation Consultant to back up the historical preservation needs for the City. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 18-0412 Priest Point Park Survey Kick-Off: Introduction to the Consultant Team Statistical Research staff Sarah Van Galder and Sarah Hibson shared archaeology and historical information on Priest Point Park for the upcoming survey. The information was received. 6.B 18-0307 Revision of Municipal Code on Cultural Resource Protection Ms. Sadlier discussed revisions to Municipal Code 18.12.120. The report was received. 7. REPORTS 7.A Heritage Review Committee Commissioner Vann gave a status update on the restoration of the Meyer's House at 208 18th SW. 7.B Outreach Committee Ms. Sadlier read a statement for Commissioner Helle, Outreach Committee Chair. 7.C Policy, Ordinance & Guidance Committee - No Report 7.D Staff - No Report 8.
