CALL TO ORDER Chair Madrone called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 5.A 22-0079 Approval of December 16, 2021 Land Use & Environment Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 6. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 6.A 22-0041 Urban Waterfront Code Amendments Ms.Hornbein gave a presentation on the Planning Commission's recommendation. Committee members asked questions of Planning Commission Chair Nejati regarding the Commission’s deliberations and recommendation. City of Olympia Page 1 Land Use & Environment Committee Meeting Minutes January 20, 2022 Committee member Gilman moved, seconded by Chair Madrone, to accept the Planning Commission recommendation and recommend the City Council adopt the draft resolution denying the Urban Waterfront Code Amendments. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 2 - Chair Madrone and Committee member Gilman Excused: 1 - Committee member Cooper 6.B 22-0038 Annual Code Enforcement Programs Status Report Mr.Mahone gave the annual Code Enforcement update. The information was received. 6.C 22-0036 Land Use and Environment Committee 2022 Work Plan Mr.Bauer discussed the 2022 Land Use and Environment Committee Work Plan. Committee members requested addition of Vacant Properties Registration Program to the “To Be Scheduled” section of the work program and added clarifying language. There was consensus to recommend approval of the 2022 Committee work program to City Council. The discussion was completed. 7. REPORTS AND UPDATES Chair Madrone reported on the progress of the Urban Agriculture Work Group. Mr.Bauer reported Tim Smith has been promoted from Planning & Engineering Manager to Community Planning & Development Deputy Director. 8.
