CALL TO ORDER Chair Madrone called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 5.A 22-0968 Approval of September 15, 2022 Land Use & Environment Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 6. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 6.A 22-0933 Electric Fence Code Amendment Recommendation Ms. Hornbein shared the Planning Commission’s recommendation for a zoning code text amendment to address use of electrified fences in Auto Services, Industrial and Light City of Olympia Page 1 Land Use & Environment Committee Meeting Minutes October 20, 2022 Industrial zoning districts with limitations. Chair Madrone moved, Seconded by Committee member Gilman to forward to the full City Council for consideration of the recommendation to amend Electric Fence Code standards. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 2 - Chair Madrone and Committee member Gilman Excused: 1 - Committee member Cooper 6.B 22-0960 Parking Requirements and Permit Process Review Mr. Cooper provided an overview of two projects recommended in the City’s adopted Housing Action Plan: First review of possible reductions in off-street parking requirements and second clarification of the City’s permit processes so it is simpler and clearer to use. The discussion was completed. 6.C 22-0941 Parking Strategy Implementation Update Mr. DeJarnatt provided an overview of implementation of the adopted Downtown Parking Strategy. The discussion was completed. 7. REPORTS AND UPDATES Committee member Gilman asked about the recent Cooper Point logging and how soon City properties could be replanted.
