Chair Madrone called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL

The agenda was approved.

5.A 24-0662 Approval of July 18, 2024 Land Use & Environment Committee Meeting
Minutes
The minutes were approved.
6. COMMITTEE BUSINESS
6.A 24-0667 Commercial Building Electrification Reach Code Recommendation
Dr. Braff presented background and current revised draft electrification-preferred reach
code. Version 2 complies with new standards and aligns with Version 2021-WSEC.
Committee member Vanderpool moved, seconded by Chair Madrone, to
forward the commercial preferred reach code to City Council with
recommendation for approval. The motion passed unanimously.

6.B 24-0654 Middle Housing Phase 2 Implementation Briefing
Ms. Phillips provided an update on State laws to implement middle housing code
changes. The timeline for adopting changes was also presented and discussed.
The discussion was completed.
7. REPORTS AND UPDATES
Mr. Smith provided an overview of agenda items for discussion at upcoming LUEC
meetings.
8. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 5:58 p.m.
