CALL TO ORDER Chair Madrone called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 3 - Chair Dani Madrone, Committee member Jim Cooper and Committee member Robert Vanderpool 2.A OTHERS PRESENT Community Planning & Development Staff: Interim Director Tim Smith Principal Planner Joyce Phillips Senior Planner David Ginther 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - None 6. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 6.A 24-0826 Olympia 2045 - Land Use & Urban Design Chapter Update Staff provided background and the discussed the current Land Use and Urban Design chapter and its goals and policies around urban corridors, focus areas, housing, Downtown and other neighborhoods. Anticipated changes and the timeline for drafting the update to the plan were also discussed. The discussion was completed. 7. REPORTS AND UPDATES Mr. Smith presented the list of agenda items for the next meeting on November 21, 2024. The agenda will include a discussion of SEPA categorical exemptions for projects, a briefing on the Climate Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan update, and a discussion of City of Olympia Page 1 Land Use & Environment Committee Meeting Minutes October 17, 2024 proposed renter protection measures. 8.
