CALL TO ORDER Chair Cooper called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2 ROLL CALL Present: 5 - Chair Jim Cooper, Boardmember Jack Seward, Boardmember Caleb Martin, Boardmember Russ Gies and Jessica Bateman 2.A OTHERS PRESENT Carl Watts, LEOFF Board Liaison; Jay Burney, Assistant City Manager; Joe Olson, HR Director; Bill Sampson, Accounting Supervisor; and Hyun Allister, Senior Personnel Analyst 3. BUSINESS 3.A 17-0129 Election of Board Chair and Vice Chair for 2017 Boardmember Bateman moved, seconded by Boardmember Martin, to appoint Chair Cooper as Chair. Boardmember Seward moved, seconded by Boardmember Gies, to appoint Boardmember Bateman as Vice Chair. Both motions were unanimously approved. 3.B 17-0136 LEOFF Board Member Changes Former Boardmember Jeannine Roe was recognized and thanked for her service on the LEOFF Disability Board since 2012. Councilmember Jessica Bateman was designated and welcomed as a new member of the LEOFF board. The recognition was received. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 4.A 17-0125 Approval of December 12, 2016 LEOFF Disability Board Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 5. REPORTS City of Olympia Page 1 LEOFF I Disability Board Meeting Minutes February 13, 2017 5.B 17-0126 Expense Report for December 2016 LEOFF Disability Board The report was received and discussed. 5.A 17-0128 Update on Insurance Policies Assistant City Manager Burney and HR Director Olson provided an update regarding the status of the Fire and Police contract negotiations. Both unions are negotiating possible changes to the members' medical coverage, which will include the LEOFF 1 members as well. There was minimal discussion on this topic. The report was received. 6.
