CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 10 - Chair Darren Mills, Vice Chair Ken Adney, Boardmember Sarah Adams, Boardmember Mary Corso, Boardmember Janis Dean, Boardmember Jo Gallaugher, Boardmember Ruthann Goularte, Boardmember David Rauh, Boardmember Bobbi Kerr, and Boardmember Phil Rollins Excused: 1 - Boardmember Cheryl Selby Absent: 2 - Boardmember Sydney Hann, and Boardmember Manuel Rincon 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 13-0958 Approval of PBIA October 10, 2013 Meeting Minutes Boardmember Corso moved, seconded by Boardmember Dean, to approve the minutes. The motion carried by unanimous vote. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. AMBASSADOR UPDATE Downtown Ambassador Program Manager Rob Richards reported the Ambassadors and Clean Team will work extended hours during the holiday season. Ambassadors will also be distributing Downtown for the Holidays information to visitors. 6. PARKING UPDATE Community Planning & Development Business Manager Karen Kenneson reported on the City's parking program. Updates included: * Parking is rebranding with different uniforms. There is an emphasis on customer City of Olympia Page 1 PBIA Advisory Board Meeting Minutes November 14, 2013 service. * Parking tokens are being purchased but only about 20% of the tokens are being used. 7. ANNOUNCEMENTS - None 8. BUSINESS ITEMS 8.A 13-0973 Legistar Update Downtown Liaison Brian Wilson briefed the Board on the City's new agenda and minutes software called "Legistar." He demonstrated how to browse and search for agendas and minutes on the City of Olympia website. The report was received. 9. COMMITTEE REPORTS Marketing Committee Boardmember Dean reported on the PBIA & ODA Downtown for the Holidays marketing strategy. The PBIA contributed $6,500 toward advertising and $3,500 for holiday decorations. In addition, this year will be the first holiday decorating contest, organized in partnership with The Olympian. Downtown visitors will be able to vote on their favorite display and be entered into a raffle for various prizes. Winning businesses will receive advertising from The Olympian. Clean & Safe Committee The Committee is working on organizing a community safety meeting in early 2015 to focus on the 200-400 blocks of 4th Avenue E. In addition, they are planning a bar owners/tenders safety meeting. 10. OTHER TOPICS - None 11. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. City of Olympia Page 2
