CALL TO ORDER Chair Darren Mills called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 9 - Chair Darren Mills, Vice Chair Ken Adney, Boardmember Sarah Adams, Boardmember Mary Corso, Boardmember Bobbi Kerr, Boardmember David Rauh, Boardmember Manuel Rincon, Boardmember Phil Rollins, and Boardmember Cheryl Selby Excused: 3 - Boardmember Janis Dean, Boardmember Jo Gallaugher, and Boardmember Ruthann Goularte 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT There was no public comment. 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Donations are needed for Quixote Village. Boardmember Selby suggested a one-week collection effort with pick up December 24. Collection sites are at the Olympia Downtown Association office and Vivala. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 13-1055 Vacant Board Positions The board decided that all board members are required to serve on at least one committee. Vice Chair Adney moved, seconded by Boardmember Corso, that the two board positions vacated by Boardmember Selby and former Boardmember Sydney Hann should be filled by Connie Phegley and Jeffrey Trinin. REPORTS 7.A 13-1058 2014 Marketing Committee Work Plan Boardmember Corso reported that the decorating contest was a success. 76 businesses participated and the prizes included $2,300 in gift certificates and $100 in parking tokens. The winning business will be featured in the 2014 Downtown for the Holidays tab and contest advertising. Website traffic from December 1 to 12 was 12,357 visits. Vice Chair Adney moved to table the motion to approve the work plan because of items that have not been discussed yet. The motion died for lack of a second. Boardmember Adams moved, seconded by Boardmember Corso, to approve the 2014 Marketing Work Plan. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 8 - Chair Mills, Boardmember Adams, Boardmember Corso, Boardmember Kerr, Boardmember Rauh, Boardmember Rincon, Boardmember Rollins and Boardmember Selby Excused: 3 - Boardmember Dean, Boardmember Gallaugher and Boardmember Goularte Abstained: 1 - Vice Chair Adney 7.B 13-1056 2014 Clean & Safe Committee Work Plan The work plan provided was not up to date. The board decided to table the discussion of the Clean & Safe Committee 2014 work plan until an updated work plan is presented at the January board meeting. 7.C 13-1057 2014 Partnership Committee Work Plan Vice Chair Adney said it is important that expenditures of ratepayer funds be documented at board meetings because notes are not taken at committee meetings. Boardmember Rauh moved, seconded by Boardmember Kerr, to approve the 2014 Partnership Committee Work Plan. OTHER TOPICS Vice Chair Adney moved, seconded by Boardmember Rollins, to approve registration of the web address itsyourdowntownolympia.com and redirect it to itsyourolympia.com (cost of $12 per month). The motion was approved. OTHER TOPICS Vice Chair Adney moved, seconded by Boardmember Rollins, to approve the purchase a one-year subscription to Survey Monkey to survey ratepayers and the public.
