CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Co-Chair Parfait Bassalé, Commissioner Mark Hodgson, Commissioner Rachelle Martin, Commissioner Kevin Mattison, Commissioner Fauziya Mohamedali, Commissioner Marianne Ozmun-Wells and Commissioner Robin Rosen-Evans Absent: 1 - Commissioner Jessicarae Nuñez 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 23-0904 Approval of September 25, 2023 Social Justice and Equity Commission Subcommittee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS On October 23 the full Social Justice and Equity Commission will receive an update regarding the subcommittee's work. The next subcommittee meeting will take place on November 20, 2023. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 23-0903 Discuss Community Oversight of Law Enforcement Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Stacey Ray introduced Project Consultant Kathryn Olson from Change Integration Consulting, LLC. Deputy Chief Sam Costello presented on the Olympia Police Department's oversight and accountability systems. Commissioners asked clarifying questions.
