CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Co-Chair Parfait Bassalé, Commissioner Mark Hodgson, Commissioner Rachelle Martin, Commissioner Kevin Mattison, Commissioner Fauziya Mohamedali, Commissioner Marianne Ozmun-Wells and Commissioner Robin Rosen-Evans Absent: 1 - Commissioner Jessicarae Nuñez 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 23-1006 Approval of October 16, 2023 Social Justice and Equity Commission Subcommittee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. ANNOUNCEMENTS Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Stacey Ray shared that the next Social Justice & Equity Commission Subcommittee is Monday, December 18. The subcommittee members expressed a preference to extend the meeting from two to three hours. 5. BUSINESS ITEMS 5.A 23-1005 Discuss Community Oversight of Law Enforcement Project Consultant Kathryn Olson of Change Integration Consulting presented on police oversight and community involvement in law enforcement. Commissioners asked clarifying questions. Olympia Police Chief Sam Costello answered questions relating to the Olympia Police Department.
