The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m.

City Manager Jay Burney thanked Co-Chairs Chan and Bassalé for serving as officers
on the Social Justice and Equity Commission.

6.A 24-0537 Olympia 2045 - Natural Environment Chapter of the City of Olympia
Comprehensive Plan Update
Environmental Habitat Planner Kym Foley gave a presentation on the Natural
Environment chapter of the Comprehensive Plan.

6.B 24-0507 Olympia 2045 - Utilities Chapter of the City of Olympia Comprehensive
Plan Update
Engineering and Planning Supervisor Susan Clark and Senior Planner Ron Jones gave a
presentation on the Utilities Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan.
The discussion was completed.
6.C 24-0539 Social Justice and Equity Commission Chair Election 2024
Commissioner Watkinson moved, seconded by Co-Chair Bassalé, to elect
Commissioner Hodgson as Chair and Commissioner Rosen-Evans as Vice
Chair. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 9 - Co-Chair Bassalé, Co-Chair Chan, Commissioner Arnold,
Commissioner Hodgson, Commissioner Martin, Commissioner
Mattison, Commissioner Mohamedali, Commissioner Rosen-Evans
and Commissioner Watkinson
Excused: 1 - Commissioner Ozmun-Wells
Absent: 1 - Commissioner Qazi
7. REPORTS
The Social Justice and Equity Commission retreat is set for October 5, 2024.
