CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Vice Chair Robin Rosen-Evans, Commissioner Karin Arnold, Commissioner Parfait Bassalé, Commissioner Rachelle Martin, Commissioner Kevin Mattison, Commissioner Fauziya Mohamedali and Commissioner Marianne Ozmun-Wells Excused: 3 - Chair Mark Hodgson, Commissioner Dr. Amna Qazi and Commissioner Larry Watkinson Absent: 1 - Commissioner Genevieve Chan 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 24-0689 Approval of July 22, 2024 Social Justice and Equity Commission Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Community members are encouraged to provide input for the renaming of the Olympia Armory Creative Campus. The Public comment period is from September 4 - September 27 at engage.olympia.gov. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 24-0683 Public Safety Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update - Briefing Deputy Police Chief Sam Costello and J Robertson & Company President Jason Robertson presented on the Public Safety chapter of the Olympia Comprehensive City of Olympia Page 1 Social Justice & Equity Meeting Minutes August 26, 2024 Commission Plan. Olympia Fire Department Chief Matt Morris and Associate Planner Casey Schaufler answered clarifying questions. The discussion was completed. 6.B 24-0685 Housing and Homeless Response Briefing Director of Housing and Homelessness Darian Lightfoot presented on the Housing and Homelessness chapter of the Comprehensive Plan. The information was provided. 6.C 24-0687 City E-mail and Service Desk Briefing Service Desk Administrator Jeremy Adams answered Commissioners' questions regarding their City email accounts.
