1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

Staff Liaison William Sullivan announced upcoming City sponsored cultural events.
6. BUSINESS ITEMS
6.A 24-0779 Informational Presentation on the Current Process for Naming Parks and
Parks Facilities
Armory Building Manager Valerie Roberts explained where staff is in the re-naming
process for parks and park facilities. There are currently 29 name suggestions for the
Olympia Armory and 10-20 suggestions for the Yelm Highway Community Park and
Kaiser Woods Park.

6.B 24-0774 Public Participation and Partners Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan
Periodic Update
Senior Planner David Ginther provided an update on the Public Participation and
Partners Chapter of the Olympia 2025 Comprehensive Plan. Commissioners provided
feedback.
The discussion was completed.
6.C 24-0790 Discuss the Social Justice and Equity Commission Retreat Agenda for
October 5, 2024
Commissioners provided insight on what they hope to achieve during the October 5,
2024 Social Justice and Equity retreat. Staff asked clarifying questions.
The discussion was completed.
7. REPORTS
Commissioners invited one another to attend upcoming community events.
