1. Call to Order
Chair Curtz called the meeting to order.

The agenda was approved.

The minutes were approved.

5. Announcements from UAC and Staff
Water Resources Director and UAC Liaison Andy Haub announced Senior Planner
Laura Keehan accepted a planner position with Olympia Parks Department. He noted
she was lead staff on the Storm and Surface Water Plan update. The process to
update the plan will continue to move forward but the timeline could be delayed a
couple of months.

Recommendations
Waste ReSources Director Dan Daniels presented proposed 2017 rates for Waste
ReSources. Mr. Haub presented proposed rates for the City Drinking Water,
Wastewater and Storm and Surface Water utilities. A 4.7 percent rate increase is
proposed for 2017 across all four utilities and LOTT.
During the meeting, the UAC received information on the rates for Waste ReSources
and Drinking Water. Staff and UAC members discussed the proposed 2017 rates and
various elements and factors for calculating the rates.
The Committee will continue discussion on this item at the September 1 UAC
meeting (specifically discussing the 2017 Wastewater and Storm and
Surface Water rates). During the September meeting, the UAC will provide a
recommendation to the Olympia Planning Commission and the City Council
on the 2017 proposed rates and the Capital Facilities Plan.
