Oroville Civil Service Monday, July 22, 2024 Meeting called to order at 4:34 pm by Chairman Joe King. Present: Commissioners Joe King, Mike Sibley, and Dusti Giroux Secretary, Chief-Examiner: Emily Finsen Others present: Mayor Ed Naillon attended via Zoom Absent: N/A Approval of the June 24, 2024, regular meeting minutes. Motion by Mike to approve the minutes, second by Dusti, motion passed. Secretary Finsen presented the Commission with an email from Chief Langford informing them that Bailey Wessale has successfully completed her background, psychology, and polygraph examinations. Her official start date is August 1st, 2024. It is still to be determined if she will be required to attend the entire Basic Law Enforcement Academy or if she will be allowed to attend the two week equivalency academy. Chief Langford requested in his email that a new eligibility list be established. Finsen stated that Ms. Wessale’s hire makes a fully staffed department. Secretary Finsen stated there are two entry level applicants that have previously applied who are interested in testing through Oral Boards again. Chairman King stated that since there were already applicants willing to apply again that a new Board be set. Oral Boards were then set for Friday, September 6th with a special meeting following to certify candidate scores. A 30-Minute Executive Session, pursuant to RCW 42.30.110 (1) (g), called by Chairman Joe King at 4:50 pm. Meeting reconvened at 5:20 pm. No action taken. Next Regular Civil Service meeting to be held Monday, August 26th, 2024. As there being no further business, motion by Mike to adjourn the meeting at 5:25 pm, second by Dusti; motion carried.
