Oroville Civil Service Monday, February 24, 2025 Meeting called to order at 4:30 pm by Chairman Joe King. Present: Commissioners Joe King and Dusti Giroux Secretary, Chief-Examiner: Emily Finsen Others present: N/A Absent: Mike Sibley Approval of the January 27, 2025 regular meeting minutes. Motion by Dusti to approve the minutes, second by Joe, motion passed. Secretary Finsen shared there were no new submitted applications. They will review and approve applications at the Special Meeting on Friday, March 7th, 2025. Finsen shared the email from Attorney Howe on the Civil Service’s inquiry on allowing remote interviews to be conducted during Oral Boards. Per Attorney Howe’s advice, the Civil Service agreed to continue requiring in-person interviews during Oral Boards. Following the previous discussion regarding research with other Civil Service entities and any updated procedures, Finsen stated that all Civil Service entities are essentially conducting business in similar matters to our current rules and regulations. There were no outstanding procedures that differentiated, however, there was an inquiry on a free advertisement with Indeed.com. Finsen will draft up an advertisement to present to the Civil Service at the next regular meeting. Next Regular Civil Service meeting scheduled to be held Monday, March 24, 2025. As there being no further business, motion by Dusti to adjourn the meeting at 4:45 pm, second by Joe; motion carried.
