Planning Commission Meeting

A Regular Meeting of the Otsego Planning Commission was held Monday, June 28, 2021. City Clerk Cronen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present: Ric Saucedo, Cyndi Trobeck, Jason Bohl, Jim Misner, Jason Smith, and City Manager Mitchell. Absent: Jayson Ennis, Blair Boyce, Brent Milhiem. Member Trobeck made a motion to excuse Member Ennis, Member Boyce, and Member Milhiem, seconded by Member Mitchell. CARRIED. Clerk Cronen opened up the floor for nominations for Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Member Trobeck made a motion to appoint Ric Saucedo as Chairman and Jim Misner as Vice-Chairman, seconded by Member Mitchell. CARRIED. The June 28, 2021, Minutes were approved on a motion by Member Trobeck, and seconded by Member Bohl. CARRIED. At this time, all current and new members were introduced. FUTURE PLANNING COMMISSION TRAINING Member Mitchell announced that there will not be a Planning Commission Meeting on December 27, 2021. He stated that at the January 2022 Meeting, he would like to provide Planning Commissioner Training. He stated that Professional Code Inspectors (PCI) will be conducting the training. He briefly explained the various duties of the Planning Commission. He asked that the members come to the training with questions. Member Trobeck commented that the Planning Commission makes decisions based on the best interest of the City and the law, not on emotions. Member Mitchell stated that anyone can bring a request to the Planning Commission, but they are not always granted. He explained that the Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Commission. Member Mitchell stated that various entities offer Planning Commission Training and if anyone is interested to reach out to him. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. MEMBER COMMENTS: None.
