MINUTES
COMMISSIONERS OF POOLESVILLE
July 1, 2019
Call to Order:
Commissioner Klobukowski called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. Commissioners Brown, Radigan, and Cook
were in attendance as well as Town Engineer John Strong and Town Manager Wade Yost.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Commissioner Radigan lead the pledge.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
I-270 Monorail Proposal – Delegate Fraser-Hidalgo and Bob Eisinger, The High Road Foundation, presented a
proposal for the development of a monorail system connecting Frederick to the Shady Grove Metro.
The Commissioners discussed the Maryland Municipal League Conference and the meetings/classes they had
attended.
OPEN FORUM:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Commissioner Cook motioned to approve the minutes of June 17, 2019. Seconded by Commissioner Radigan.
Motion carried 3-0-1, with Commissioner Brown abstaining.

OLD BUSINESS:
Ordinance #212 Chapter 19 Small Cell Amendments
Commissioner Klobukowski provided a brief of the proposed amendments. Commissioner Brown motioned to set a
public hearing on the proposed amendments for August 5, 2019. Seconded by Commissioner cook. Motion carried
4-0.
TOWN MANAGER’S REPORT:
Town Manager Yost reported:
County Road Transfer
Spoke with DOT today and the final package is in the Director’s office for review and then it goes to the County
Council for sign off.
SHA Take-over
Clean up and final striping needs to be complete and that includes turn lane arrows, stop bars and crosswalk striping.
Waiting to hear a specific timeframe for completion.
Trail Paving
Is ongoing and will be for the next few weeks
Steven’s Park Rec Camp
We currently have 140 kids signed up and participating in the camp
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
PLANNING COMMISSION – Commissioner Radigan reported on a meeting with Mr. Willard regarding a
development on the 13-acre parcel next to Town Hall.
PARKS BOARD – Next Meeting August 10.
EVENTS COMMITTEE – Commissioner Klobukowski reported that individuals were drinking in a parked car
during the Red White and Brew event. Police were notified.
SCHOOL LIASON – Commissioner Klobukowski reported that the new PHS principal announcement should occur
on July 11th.
FAIR ACCESS – Commissioner Brown announced that he has scheduled a meeting with Councilmember Albornoz
for the end of July. Link Hoewing reported that there was a meeting scheduled to meet Kasey Kasemen, County
Interfaith coordinator and other local ministers. He also had meetings scheduled with the Boyds Civic Group and
would be testifying at the BOE Open Meetings.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made to adjourn by Commissioner Radigan, seconded by Commissioner Brown.
Motion passed 4-0.
