Finance Committee

PROCEEDINGS OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE The Finance Committee of the Village of Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin met on Monday, September 26, 2022 in the Council Room of the Oxford Village Hall, 129 S. Franklin Avenue. The meeting was called to order by President Meyer at 4:00 PM. The following Committee Members were present: Gary Sorensen and Bart O’Brien. Also in attendance were Public Works Director Steve Mullens and Village Clerk Shannon McMullin. Not in attendance was Committee Member Loretta Drinkwater. Motion made by O’Brien/Sorensen to proceed with the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Committee Member Sorensen explained the proposed figures on the wage scale, using the statewide average for public sector, non-union, and non-exempt employees. President Meyer announced that, per the agenda, a closed session is proposed to discuss employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility per Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c). Motion made by Sorensen/O’Brien to proceed with item #4 on the agenda and move to closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c) for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Motion carried on a roll call vote with all present voting aye. President Meyer appointed Trustee Sorensen to take the minutes of the closed session. The closed session per Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c) began at 4:05 PM. The Clerk was excused at 4:06 PM. Per the agenda, the Committee Meeting reconvened into open session at 5:57 PM. The Committee and the Village Clerk were present. Motion made by O’Brien/Sorensen that the Committees be instructed to attempt to meet the goals of the pay-scale system with adjustments to be made by the Finance Committee, if necessary.
