Village Board

PROCEEDINGS OF THE OXFORD VILLAGE BOARD The Village Board of the Village of Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin met in regular session at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in the Council Room of the Oxford Village Hall. The meeting was called to order by President Meyer with the Pledge of Allegiance. The following Board Members were present: Trustees L. Drinkwater, Holtz, Sorensen, Zacharias and J. Drinkwater, with Wastart arriving at 6:40 pm. Also, in attendance were Clerk-Treasurer Maier, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Kongslie, Terry Berndt and Kathy Terwelp. Motion made by J. Drinkwater/Sorensen to approve the agenda as printed. Motion made by L. Drinkwater/Holtz to accept the minutes of the October 2, 2024, regular board meeting. Motion by Sorensen/J. Drinkwater to approve the Treasurer’s Report as printed. All motions carried. Citizen Inquiries: None. New Business: All information provided to the board was reviewed. There were no building permits to report. Motion by L. Drinkwater/J. Drinkwater to approve the Operators License for 1. Andrea Gordon and 2. Valerie Schaak. Motions carried. Committee Reports: Public Safety: Concerns from citizens regarding school children and pedestrians and the trucks hauling recently on S. Franklin Ave., were taken care of via the Oxford P.D. and board members. Municipal Court – Chairman Sorensen stated nothing to report. Police Report – Chief Kowalski’s monthly report was distributed to the Board. Parks & Recreation Report – The park has been officially closed. The nets have been put away and the water system is winterized. There are now two latches and locks on the breaker box. All of the doors on the food stand have been repaired and locked. The only remaining item is to complete the mulching of the leaves. Library Board Report – Chairman L. Drinkwater reported that the library had 10 new cards issued in October. A door counter will be installed in the main entryway to the library to count visitors. The book sale set for Friday the 8th through Saturday the 9th. Donations from VFW Post 6003 and Auxiliary will be incoming. Changes are coming from Winnefox and an update to the website in 2025. Public Works – The salt has been delivered for the winter season. 3,000 feet of the wastewater collection system has been televised, with no issues discovered. One of the pedestrian signs on Hwy 82 was taken out by a wide load trailer that went through town. The Village Hall siding for the gables will be completed by the end of this week, and the new sign will be hung. The bulbs for the Christmas decoration have been ordered. Prepping has begun and will be up prior to Thanksgiving. The tires for the tractor were ordered and will be installed this week. Brush chipping is done for the season. All of the equipment has bee winterized or changed over for snow. Motion by Wastart/L. Drinkwater to pay the bills presented. Motion carried. Motion to adjourn by L. Drinkwater/Zacharias at 7:33 PM.
