MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING PLANNING COMMISSION / BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS FEBRUARY 18, 2020 Commissioners Present: Cowman, Hardwick, McLean, Pfefferkorn, Scott Commissioners Absent: Pritchard Others Present: Randi Shannon, Jessica Shay-Howell, Matt Fineout, Karen Dietrich, Bob & Julie Zoller, Renee Bowman, Scott Shappell Item 1: Pledge of Allegiance Item 2: Consideration of minutes from the December 19, 2019 meeting Commissioner Cowman called the meeting to order. The first order of business was the consideration of the minutes from the December 19, 2019 meeting. Commissioners McLean and Scott made a motion to approve the minutes from the December 19, 2019 meeting with all Commissioners voting in favor while Commissioner Pfefferkorn abstains (absent from December meeting). Item 3: Consideration and vote to recommend approval of Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for a bed and breakfast located at 8 E Kaskaskia, Scott Shappell and Matthew Fineout, Applicants. Commissioners McLean and Pfefferkorn made a motion to open a Public Hearing with all Commissioners voting in favor. Applicant Scott Shappell presented background information on the proposed bed and breakfast at 8 E Kaskaskia. The existing residence is located in Neighborhood Conservation District R1, which allows for Conditional Use as a Bed and Breakfast under Paola LDO Ordinance 03.329. No Public Comments. Commissioners McLean and Cowman made a motion to close the Public Hearing with all Commissioners voting in favor. Commissioners Cowman and Scott made a motion to recommend approval of the Conditional Use Permit for a bed and breakfast located at 8 E Kaskaskia, Scott Shappell and Matthew Fineout, Applicants. Item 4: Community/Economic Development Director Report Paola Planning Commission Minutes February 18, 2020 1 Building permits February = 24 2020 = 49 Holy Trinity addition is moving along. Daylight Donuts is nearing the finish line. Two new single family residence permits for the year.
