Planning Commission

PAPILLION PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OCTOBER 26, 2016 The Papillion Planning Commission met in open session at the Papillion City Hall Council Chambers on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 7: 00 PM. Chairman Michael Mallory called the meeting to order. Planning Assistant Andrea Blevins called the roll. Planning Commission members present were Howard Carson, Rebecca Hoch, Raymond Keller Jr., John E. Robinson III, Leanne Sotak, and Herb Thompson. Judy Sunde joined the Commission at 7: 18 PM. David Barker and Jim Masters were absent. Mayor David Black, Planning Director Mark Stursma, Assistant Planning Director Amber Rupiper, and City Engineer Jeff Thompson were also present. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Papillion Times on October 12, 2016. A copy of proof of publication is on file at the office of the City Clerk. Chairman Mallory led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. Chairman Mallory announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the City Council Chambers. Mayor David Blackadministered the-Oath of Office to new Planning Commission member Herb Thompson. Approval of Aqenda Motion_was made by Ms Hoch, seconded by Mr. Keller, to approve the agenda as presented. Roll call: Seven yeas, no nays. Motion carried. Approval of the Planninq Commission Minutes Motion was made: by Mr. Robinson III, seconded by Ms. Hoch, to approve the 09/ 28/ 16 minutes. Roll CaIL• Seven yeas, no nays. Motion carried. Approval of the 2017 Plannina Commission Schedule The Planning Commission discussed whether to adopt a meeting schedule that proposed twelve ( 12) monthly meetings or eleven ( 11) meetings that combines the December and November meetings. The Planning Commission members concluded that they prefer the calendar that proposes twelve ( 12) monthly meetings. Motion was made by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Keller, to approve the 2017 Planning Commission schedule with twefve ( 12) monthfy meetings. Roll Call: Eight yeas, no nays. Motion carried. 1 Planning Commission I October 26, 2016 I I OTHER BUSINESS City Engineer Jeff Thompson gave a brief overview of the status of the Papillion Community Center and City Park Expansion project. Mr. Thompson also offered an update of the improvements to Lincoln Road involved with this project. Mayor Black honored former Planning Commission member Ken Melhus for his contributions to the Planning Commission and the City. With no further business to come before the Commission, Motion was made by Ms. Sunde, seconded by Mr. Carson, to adjourn. The meeting adjourned by unanimous consent at 7: 38 PM.
