We recognize the long history and contributions of Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land from time immemorial to the present. We acknowledge that we are all Treaty people, bound to one another by the spirit and intent of Treaty “as long as the sun shines, the grass grows and the river flows”. The Explore Parkland initiative, driven by Parkland County's Economic Diversification team, won top prize in the province in the category of Economic Development Renewal Projects (Medium-sized communities). Committee Chairperson Birnie, on behalf of Council, welcomed Mr. Jeff Dyck as Parkland County's Interim Chief Administrative Officer. ADOPTION OF AGENDA Committee Chairperson Birnie requested to add the following: - Notice of Motion - Take notice that at a regular meeting of Council on April 23, 2024, Councillor Birnie will move that administration be directed to revise Elected Offical Expenses Policy C-AD 24 to add a new section: Memberships/Professional Fees/Dues to define allowable expenses and establish budget parameters. A motion was made by Committee Member Kowalski that the April 16, 2024 Governance and Priorities Committee meeting agenda be adopted, as amended. The motion was defeated.
