PUBLIC COMMENT: Ms. Denise Held of 5929 Princess Lane inquired as to why the residents of Peachtree Corners do not have any fiber choices beyond Comcast and AT&T. Brian Johnson, City Manager informed the public that the City does not control the fiber, the fiber business decides whether they want to come to a city. Mr. Mike Murphy McCarthy gave feedback on the setup of the Election equipment for the next Municipal Election. Mr. McCarthy stated that he wanted to ensure people voting on the new machines would feel that their vote was confidential; and therefore, would like to make sure the machines were setup in a way that would provide confidentiality. Mayor Mason opened the floor for public comment. Denise Held stated that she was in favor of the Ordinance as she likes having streetlights in her neighborhood. Mr. McCarthy stated that although he was not in opposition of the of the Ordinance, he did not think that neighborhoods should be singled out, if one neighborhood needs to make a change, then all should make the change. Gateway 85 Community Improvement District (CID) – Mr. Emory Morsberger, Executive Director of Gateway 85 CID gave a brief presentation on the activities of the CID over the past year, and what is to come in the next year. 3. Discussion Regarding Digital Signs within the Entertainment District – Diana Wheeler, Community Development Director, gave a brief presentation on possible code amendments to allow for digital signs in the entertainment district for cinemas, performing arts theaters and public spaces. Councilmembers Wright and Christ asked for this amendment to be expanded to the entire city. This item will be place on the next Work Session agenda for consideration. 4. Arts Council Proposal for Button Art Project – Mr. Lance Campbell of the City of Peachtree Corners Arts Committee gave a brief presentation on the artwork for four Buttons (4.5-foot button in honor of Button Gwinnett). The Mayor and Council applauded the efforts of the Arts Committee, accepted all four pieces of art, and  requested that two additional Buttons be acquired. 5. City Manager Update – City Manager, Brian Johnson, requested Greg Ramsey, Public Works Director, give a brief update on the pedestrian bridge. Mr. Ramsey stated that completion is expected September 2020. Mr. Johnson gave an update on possible changes to the noise ordinance. The changes would include using a combination of qualitative and quantitative measures. Mr. Johnson gave an update on legislative items that could affect cities and the Coronavirus. 6. Curiosity Lab budget presentation – Betsy Plattenburg, Executive Director of Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners, gave a presentation on all the activity that has transpired in the past year. This included an update on staff, volunteers, partnerships, events, new projects and how Curiosity Lab is responding to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Brandon Branham also gave a brief update on the budget. 3. Resolution – GDOT REBC Grant – Greg Ramsey informed the Mayor and Council that the Resolution for the REBC Grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation will be presented at the next Council Meeting. 4. City Manager Updates - City Manager, Brian Johnson, asked that Cory Sally present the Council with a projected 2021 budget adjustment due to COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Johnson also informed the Mayor and Council of an extension to the Jacobs contract. Mr. Johnson gave an update on an initiative for residents to participate “Color our Heroes” to show support for our local first responders.  5. Executive Session – There was no executive session. 6. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Peachtree Corners Section 1. The City Council of the City of Peachtree Corners hereby authorizes the City Manager to apply for an REBC Grant.
