Order to approve and authorize the purchase of (3) Dual - 2 Antenna Radar 24-1771 Systems from Stalker Radar (Applied Concepts, Inc.) in the amount of $5,097.00 with reimbursement from MOHS in the amount of $4,767.00 approve. 13. 24-1764 Payment to Holmes Community College for Summer 2024 Semester for M. Adams, J. Davis, P. Finnegan and B. Consider amending the zoning map and zoning language. 24-1718 Motion was made by Alderman Foy and seconded by Alderman Steverson to continue the matter of adopting the proposed land use plan, zoning amendment and zoning map until the next meeting, July 16, 2024. Order to set public hearing for July 2, 2024, to determine whether or not a 24-1782 Conditional Use permit should be granted to Pearson Road Coin, LLC. to continue operating a laundry mat in a R-1 zone located at 610 South Pearson Road. Motion was made by Alderman Foy and seconded by Alderman Steverson to continue this matter to July 16, 2024. The following members of the Board of Alderman voted in favor of the Motion which became the Order of the Board: Aye: Alderman Williams, Alderman Dennis, Alderman Steverson, Alderman Foy, and Alderman Knight Order to set public hearing for July 2, 2024, to determine whether or a not a 24-1785 Conditional Use permit should be granted to Phu (Phillip) Nguyen to operate a nail salon and day spa at 3037 Highway 80 E. Phu (Phillip) Nguyen appeared on behalf of his request. Community Development Director Brad Robertson recommended that the Conditional Use permit be granted. Motion was made by Alderman Foy and seconded by Alderman Knight to accept the recommendation of Community Development Director, Brad Robertson to grant a Conditional Use permit to Phu (Phillip) Nguyen to allow him to operate a nail salon and day spa at 3039 Highway 80 E. The following members of the Board of Alderman voted in favor of the Motion which became the Order of the Board: Aye: Alderman Williams, Alderman Dennis, Alderman Steverson, Alderman Foy, and Alderman Knight 3. Order to set public hearing for July 2, 2024, to determine whether or not a 24-1784 conditional use permit to allow Porchia Amiker to operate a daycare at 212 St. Paul Street should be granted. Porchia Amiker appeared on behalf of her request. Community Development Director, Brad Robertson advised the Mayor and Board of Aldermen that this location is not suitable for a daycare and that he does not recommend granting the Conditional Use permit. Motion was made by Alderman Williams and seconded by Alderman Dennis to deny the request by Porchia Amiker for a conditional use permit to allow her to operate a daycare at 212 St. Paul Street. The following members of the Board of Alderman voted in favor of the Motion which became the Order of the Board: Aye: Alderman Williams, Alderman Dennis, Alderman Steverson, Alderman Foy, and Alderman Knight Page 5 of 7 Mayor and Board of Aldermen Meeting Minutes - Final July 2, 2024 5. Order to set public hearing for July 2, 2024, to determine whether or not a 24-1783 conditional use permit should be granted to allow Friends of Children of Mississippi Inc. to build and operate an early childhood educaton center at 214 Lonnie T. Jenkins Drive. The members of Friends of Children of Mississippi, Inc. appeared on behalf of this request. Community Development Director, Brad Robertson advised that this location is a former daycare and that he recommends granting the Conditional Use permit. Motion was made by Alderman Foy and seconded by Alderman Knight to accept the recommendation of Community Development Director, Brad Robertson and approve the conditional use permit to allow Friends of Children of Mississippi Inc. to build and operate an early childhood education center at 214 Lonnie T. Jenkins Drive. The following members of the Board of Alderman voted in favor of the Motion which became the Order of the Board: Aye: Alderman Williams, Alderman Dennis, Alderman Steverson, Alderman Foy, and Alderman Knight GENERAL BUSINESS 8. 24-1789 Motion was made by Alderman Foy and seconded by Alderman Knight to deny a Resolution by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Pearl, Mississippi, to hold a non-binding referendum on allowing liquor stores in the City of Pearl on a restricted basis. The following members of the Board of Alderman voted in favor of the Motion which became the Order of the Board: Aye: Alderman Williams, Alderman Dennis, Alderman Steverson, Alderman Foy, and Alderman Knight 14. Order to accept the Woodson Bend Phase 3 Subdivision. 24-1747 Motion was made by Alderman Knight and seconded by Alderman Dennis to approve an Order to accept the Woodson Bend Phase 3 Subdivision. The following members of the Board of Alderman voted in favor of the Motion which became the Order of the Board: Aye: Alderman Williams, Alderman Dennis, Alderman Steverson, Alderman Foy, and Alderman Knight 1. 24-1781 Motion was made by Alderman Foy and seconded by Alderman Williams to consider Executive Session to discuss confidential negotiations involving the baseball stadium and personnel matters in the Police Dept. The following members of the Board of Alderman voted in favor of the Motion which became the Order of the Board: EMERGENCY CONSIDERATION OF COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS, AND BOARD MATTERS.
