CITY OF PELICAN RAPIDS COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES-09-10-03 The City Council of the City of Pelican Rapids reconvened the regularly scheduled meeting of 09-08-03, at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 09-10-03, Council Chambers, City Hall. Mayor Wayne Runningen, Council Members Ben Woessner, John Waller III, and Denise Magnusson were present. Council Member Dave Gottenborg was absent. Administrative Assistant Richard A. Jenson was also present. Meeting called to order by Mayor Runningen. Personnel Committee reported that they interviewed three of the five applicants for position of Street and Park Superintendent. They recommend hiring Tom Soberg for the position at 80% level of the Salary Schedule. After six months he will move to 85% level of the Salary Schedule. Motion by Woessner, seconded by Magnusson to approve the Personnel Committee’s recommendation regarding salary and hire Tom Soberg as Street and Park Superintendent. Motion passed unanimously. Motion by Woessner, seconded by Waller to authorize Administrative Assistant Richard A. Jenson to advertise for replacement of Soberg’s position in the Public Works Department.
