CITY OF PELICAN RAPIDS COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES – 10-27-05 The City Council of the City of Pelican Rapids reconvened in regular session at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, 10-27-05, in Council Chambers, City Hall. Mayor Wayne Runningen, Council Members Ben Woessner, Richard Peterson, David Gottenborg and John E. Waller, III, were present. City Administrator Don Solga and Utilities Superintendent Brent E. Frazier were also present. Mayor Runningen called the reconvened meeting to order. Council Members discussed the covering of the anaerobic ponds with barley straw. 150 round bales of straw are required to cover the ponds and will cost $26.50 per bale, delivered. Utilities Superintendent Brent E. Frazier will contact David Rein to obtain contact information for the barley straw. Utilities Superintendent Brent E. Frazier will arrange delivery of the straw and coordinate with the Street Department to have the straw unloaded. Councilman Peterson discussed the bid of $2,000 from David Sherbrooke to blow the straw onto the ponds. Motion by Gottenborg, seconded by Woessner to contract with David Sherbrooke at the quoted price of $2,000 to cover the anaerobic ponds with barley straw. Motion passed unanimously.
