A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PENSACOLA, FLORIDA, RELATING TO THE PROVISION OF STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CITY’S STORMWATER UTILITY; REIMPOSING STORMWATER SERVICE ASSESSMENTS AGAINST DEVELOPED PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE STORMWATER SERVICE AREA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2019; APPROVING THE RATE OF ASSESSMENT; APPROVING THE ASSESSMENT ROLL; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. HEARING REQUIRED: Public SUMMARY: The City of Pensacola created a stormwater utility fee in 2001 to provide a dedicated funding source for stormwater management costs. To continue to receive stormwater assessment revenue, it is necessary that the City Council conduct an annual public hearing on August 8, 2019 to adopt the annual assessment resolution imposing stormwater service assessments and to approve the 2019 Stormwater Assessment Roll. Since its inception, the stormwater utility fee has generated over $ 37 million in revenue designated exclusively for stormwater management. A billing rate of $72.24 per equivalent stormwater unit (ESU) billing unit is proposed for 2019, the same rate as 2018.
