MINUTES OF THE PEORIA CITY COUNCIL CITY OF PEORIA, ARIZONA CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER November 28, 2022 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Peoria, Arizona was convened at 8401 West Monroe Street in open and public session at 4:00 p.m. Following a moment of silent reflection, Vice Mayor Patena led the Pledge of Allegiance. Members Present: Mayor Cathy Carlat; Vice Mayor Bill Patena; Mayor Pro Tem Vicki Hunt; Councilmembers Denette Dunn, Jon Edwards, Michael Finn (By Telephone) and Brad Shafer. Members Absent: None. Other Municipal Officials Present: Jeff Tyne, City Manager; Vanessa Hickman, City Attorney; Lori Dyckman, City Clerk; Kevin Burke, Finance and Budget Director; Briana Cortinas, Office of Communications Director; Jay Davies, Public Works Director; Chris Jacques, Planning and Community Development Director; Adina Lund, Development and Engineering Director; Art Miller, Police Chief; Christine Nickel, Human Resources Director; Jennifer Stein, Economic Development Services Director; Anthony Alejandro, Assistant to the Mayor and Jill Boltz, Deputy City Clerk. Audience: Approximately 5 members of the public were present. Note: The order in which items appear in the minutes is not necessarily the order in which they were discussed in the meeting. REGULAR AGENDA New Business: 1 R. Canvass of November 8, 2022 General and Special Elections Motion was made by Vice Mayor Patenta, seconded by Councilmember Edwards adopting Resolution 2022-128 approving the official Canvass of Election for the November 8, 2022, City of Peoria Regular and Special Elections. Upon vote, motion passed unanimously 7 to 0. City Council Meeting Minutes November 28, 2022 Page 2 of 2 Presentation: SWEARING IN BY PRESIDING MUNICIPAL JUDGE GEORGE ANAGNOST AND SEATING OF NEW COUNCILMEMBER Presiding Municipal Judge George Anagnost administered the Oath of Office to Mesquite District Councilmember Brad Shafer.
