CITY OF PEORIA Mayor’s Advisory Committee for Citizens with Disabilities MINUTES February 14th 2023, at 4:00PM Call to Order Staff Liaison Green called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM Approval of Meeting Minutes February 11th, 2020 Minutes: last minutes recorded prior to COVID-19 pandemic and MACCD meeting cancellations. Staff Liaison Green called for approval, seconded by Commissioner Berry. All in favor, none opposed, the motion carries. New Business I: Introduction of Commissioners: All Commissioners and Staff Liaison Green provided self-introductions. II: Ethics Discussion: Commissioner English led a brief discussion regarding the important of ethics and her understanding of how ethics relate to poverty, fairness, and equity. Other Commissioners and Liaison Green shared perceptions and knowledge surrounding the ethics discussion. III. Meeting Frequency: Commissioners discussed meeting frequency as it was a pending item prior to the COVID pandemic in 2020. Commissioners agreed to continue the schedule as set forth by ordinance at this time. IV. Officer Nominations: Staff Liaison Green pointed out that the commission currently has no Chair or Vice Chair and that a vote would need to be taken to establish roles. Chair is responsible for approval of minutes (prepared by Liaison Green), and for Agenda preparation. Doris Hayes was nominated for Chair by Stacy English, all in favor none opposed, Doris Hayes was voted Chair of the Commission and the motion carries. Kaye Berry was nominated for Vice Chair by Stacy English. All in favor none opposed, Kaye Berry was voted Vice Chair of the Commission and the motion carries. Unfinished Business N/A Community Input N/A Adjournment: Motion to adjourn meeting at 4:25 PM raised by Commissioner Hayes and seconded by Commissioner Muelbaugher.
