SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL PIEDMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT - 400 EDMOND ROAD NORTHWEST Friday October 9,2020 at 4:00pm MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilman Austin Redus, Councilman Jack Jackson, Mayor Kurt Mayabb, Councilman Melissa Ashford, and Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel ABSENT: Councilman Bobby Williamson STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Jason Orr, City Clerk Jennifer Smith, City Attorney Michael Seagler, and City secretary Arielle Garcia, Community Development supervisor Scott Garnand 1. CALL TO ORDER – Mayor Kurt Mayabb called the meeting to order at 4:09pm 2. ROLL CALL - City Clerk Jennifer Smith called roll and a quorum was present. 3. BUSINESS ITEM a. Discussion, consideration and possible action on a joint project with Canadian County to repair Frisco Rd. off of 164th st. County Commissioner Mark Hader addressed the council Work is being done going south into Piedmont. Right now, it is a good time to get materials. We want to work on Longview from Frisco to Richland. Just found out that bids will open up on Monday. Council Jack Jackson addressed the council How long have we known of this? Working on these roads, will that cause a detour or a one lane closer? County Commissioner Mark Hader addressed the council This has to be done by Thanksgiving. Traffic will be able to go through while work is being done. We will close one lane. Councilman Jack Jackson addressed the council Are there many homes in this area? Mayor Kurt Mayabb addressed the council There is one driveway on the west side of the road. I would like to talk about us going east to continue on this road work. We can discuss is more once this project if finishing up. Councilman Melissa Ashford made a motion to approve business item a. Motion was seconded by councilman Austin Redus.
