SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL PIEDMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT - 400 EDMOND ROAD NORTHWEST Monday November 2,2020 at 5:30pm MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilman Austin Redus, Councilman Jack Jackson, Mayor Kurt Mayabb, Councilman Melissa Ashford, and Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel ABSENT: Councilman Bobby Williamson STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Jason Orr, City Clerk Jennifer Smith, City Attorney Michael Seagler 1. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Kurt Mayabb called the meeting to order at 5:30pm 2. ROLL CALL - City Clerk Jennifer Smith called roll and a quorum was present. 3. BUSINESS ITEM a. Discussion, consideration and possible action on response to the recent ice storm. City Manager Jason Orr addressed the council Currently we have been advising residents to discard of the tree limbs their selves. My concern is, what will we do if we have another ice storm worse than this one and the city needs our assistance. We will not have the funds to have a tree limb removal twice. Mayor Kurt Mayabb addressed the council The Citizens need our help now. I think we should do something to assist them. Not every resident is capable for disposing their limbs. Mayor Kurt Mayabb directed City Manager Jason Orr to move forward with OEMA for tree removal pick up.
