SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL GEORGE FINA MUNICIPAL BUILDING - 314 EDMOND ROAD NORTHWEST Friday February 5, 2021 at 11A.M. MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilman Jack Jackson, Mayor Kurt Mayabb, Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel, Councilman Austin Redus ABSENT: Councilman Melissa Ashford STAFF PRESENT: City Clerk Jennifer Smith, City Manager Jason Orr, Fire Chief Andy Logan, Police Chief Scott Singer and City Attorney Michael Segler. 1. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Kurt Mayabb called the meeting to order at 11:01A.M. 2. ROLL CALL - City Clerk Jennifer Smith called roll and quorum was present. 3. BUSINESS ITEMS – a) Discussion, consideration and possible action on the estimate for road grader repair. Councilman Jack Jackson made a motion to approve the repair of the road grader. It was seconded by Austin Redus. The Vote was: AYE: Councilman Jack Jackson, Councilman Austin Redus, Councilman Bobby Williamson and Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel NAY: None b) Discussion, consideration and possible action on the engagement letter from the state auditor’s office. City Manager Jason Orr explained that the engagement letter was sent after the fact and the audit had already been started. The council did not get the chance to approve the amount listed on the letter, which was between $5000-$10,000. He feels the audit is not going to tell us anything we don’t already know. Staff will be working with Crawford and Associates to bring our current ordinance up to date which is in line with multiple cities around us and the state. Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel made a motion that we accept the engagement letter and let the auditor’s office continue the audit and whatever cost are billed we should pay it. Motion failed for lack of a second Councilman Jack Jackson made a motion directing the city manager to discuss with the auditor’s office that the council did not approve the engagement letter. They would like to pay the current invoice of $2925 and the audit be completed. It was seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Kevan Blasdel. The Vote was: AYE: Councilman Jack Jackson, Councilman Austin Redus, Councilman Bobby Williamson and Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel NAY: None 4.
