MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL HELD ON
THURSDAY, JANUARY 18, 2017 IN THE TOWN COMMITTEE
CHAMBERS LOCATED AT 1360 N. NIELS HANSEN LANE, LAKESIDE,
AZ 85929
A. Call to Order: Chairman Bailee Babbitt called the meeting to order
At 6:56 a.m.
Pledge of Allegiance: Bailee Babbitt led the Pledge of Allegiance.

B. Minutes:
Chairman Babbitt moved to approve the following minutes:
Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting November 9, 2017
The motion was seconded by Member Keala Bratsch and was carried with an 9-0 voice vote.
C. Old Business:
C.1 Presentation and Discussion Regarding MYAC Survey
Committee discussed the MYAC survey. They decided to have it announced with
a QR Code at the BRHS Fall/Winter Sports Assembly. This will be held February
16, 2018.
C.2 Report on Result of the Committee’s Participation at the Christmas Tree
Lighting Event held on December 1, 2017 and MYAC Child Sponsorship
Committee discussed that the Christmas Tree Lighting overall was amazing,
however; there was no child sponsorship. Instead, toys and money went to the
Love Kitchen.
D. New Business:
D.1 Introduction of New Recreation Coordinator and Liaison to MYAC
Committee had previously been introduced.
D.2 Presentation on Government and Committees
Keith Johnson, with a PowerPoint presentation, wonderfully explained the system
of our town’s government. It was educational and very much enjoyed by the
Committee.
D.3 Discussion on Upcoming Community Events
Community Services Manager Malaina Spillman went over each event for the
upcoming months. These include the Community Picnic and Day of Service,
Easter Egg Hunt, Pat Tillman Honor Run, and Winter Fest.
D.4 MYAC Goals and Projects
Committee went over the goals previously made at the MYAC 2017-2018 retreat.
They then talked about a possible MYAC project such as a garden in
representation of Blue Ridge High School’s beloved teacher Mr. Thomas Kean.
E. Public Comments:
Chairman Bailee Babbitt called for public comments.
No comments were offered.
F. Adjournment:
There being no further business at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 7:46 a.m.
