MINUTES OF PIPERTON BOARD OF MAYOR AND COMMISSIONER SPECIAL CALLED WORK SESSION March 1, 2022 5:30 P.M. The Piperton Board of Mayor and Commissioners met in a Special Called Work Session on March 1, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at the Public Works Building. Board members: Mayor Henry Coats, Vice-Mayor Mike Binkley, Commissioner Hugh Davis, Commissioner David Crislip and Commissioner Preston Trotter were present along with City Manager Steve Steinbach. City Recorder Beverly Holloway was absent. Agenda item 1. Call to Order Mayor Henry Coats called the work session to order at 5:30 p.m., and established that a quorum was present. Agenda item 2. WWTP Assessment Update - Mr. Steinbach updated the Board on the progress being made by the City’s engineering consultant, J.R. Wauford, regarding the assessment of the operational functionality of the Adair Waste Water Treatment Plant, noting that the final report has been completed and a discussion ensued. Agenda item 3. Pinckney Property Update - Mr. Steinbach updated the Board regarding the City’s architectural consultant, Spirit Architecture, and its ongoing design efforts for repurposing the Pinckney home for administrative offices. Agenda item 4. Waste Connections Rate Increases Mr. Steinbach updated the Board on the recent notification from Waste Connections regarding an annual rate increase and discussion ensued. Agenda item 5. FY 2022 Capital Improvements (Keough Rd., etc.) Mr. Steinbach updated the Board on several amended and new appropriation items included on the budget amendment since the first reading and discussion ensued. Agenda item 6. American Rescue Plan (ARP) Spending Mr. Steinbach updated the Board and discussion ensued. Agenda item 7. Employee Appreciation Picnic Mr. Steinbach updated the Board regarding an employee appreciation picnic to be held in the Spring and discussion ensued. Agenda item 8. Adjournment Commissioner Trotter moved to adjourn the work session, seconded by Vice-Mayor Binkley.
